Para Medics Kate Adlam and Paul Robinson welcomed some of the show organisers to the DAAT base at Police HQ Middlemoor. They gave an interesting talk on the operational and logisical management of the Air Ambulance, and showed the medical equipment carried in the helicopter, giving examples of real life and death situations that the crews have been involved in. The speed at which the helicopter could leave the base and get to a casualty anywhere in Devon and further afield, the medics giveing immediate life saving medical attention, and then transport the casualty to the most suitable hospital, underlines the importance of a helicopter in rural areas like Devon.

Following the talk a cheque for £2130.55 was presented to DAAT.

Thanks to Mary Pratt of DAAT for making the arrangements for our visit.
